Take it all in stride – there are compensations. How can he scold you for buying that expensive mink hat after he lost the price of a mink coat in a little game with the fellows or after he spent your savings at an auction on two box cars of folded cardboard cartons in assorted sizes, when he took a notion to go into the mail order business? (Then he couldn’t use them because it turned out that they were stamped all over with the words “Rat Poison” and a large skull and crossbones.) Keep him away from auctions if you have to lock him up, because he, has an irresistible urge to bid higher than anybody on anything at any time.
